This is the story of the Ragpicker, who found people on the “roadside of life” and brought them back to a full and happy life. He simply gave them the text below and asked them to read it before going to sleep for at least one hundred days. And he told them that during this time everything in their lives would change for the better. And so it did. He also gave them a small piece of white cloth with an ordinary pin, asking them to fasten it to their clothes for that time. Most likely this served two purposes — as a reminder to keep following the precepts and recommendations, and as protection, since pins and needles ward off the evil eye.
