“The Bucket List” (USA, 2007)

Two completely different people — Carter Chambers, an ordinary mechanic, and Edward Cole, a billionaire who owns several hospitals — end up in the same room of a cancer hospital. With the same diagnosis: cancer.

Carter, realizing that he has little time left to live, makes a list of interesting things to do. But on learning that his time is even more limited, he throws the list away on impulse. Edward finds it and suggests that they carry out everything written on it and add a few more items.

The wish list is simple: to race in race cars, to make a parachute jump, to see extraordinary corners of the world, to make peace with loved ones and those close to them.

To make up for everything they have not managed to do in life, without losing a single minute.

And together they set off on a last journey into life, toward death.

Even in tragic situations, our heroes never lose their sense of humor or their jokes. You watch the film with a smile on your face that gives way to a light sadness and melancholy. An astonishing combination of the beautiful and the terrible, the desired and the inevitable.

The film is piercing and heartfelt. Brilliant acting by the veteran actors J. Nicholson and M. Freeman. A film about life, about the value of every minute lived.

“Find joy in life,” Carter tells Edward.

Or perhaps this is addressed to us?

To live before you kick the bucket….

Watch and enjoy!
