“Pollyanna” (UK, 2003)

Pollyanna, an 11-year-old girl, is left all alone after the death of her parents. Apart from her wealthy aunt Polly, she has no relatives who could take care of her. The aunt — a prim, sullen, lonely woman — lives in the countryside and takes the girl in without much joy. There is not a single person near the child who loves her.

But Pollyanna does not lose heart. Her father taught her to rejoice in life, to find something good in every situation and never to lose heart.

Like a ray of sunshine, the girl looked into the hearts of the people of this village, lit them up with her light and taught them to play “the glad game.”

Their lives began to change. But soon a misfortune befalls Pollyanna, one that leaves no hope for the better.

Will the child be able to overcome this trial and keep the joy in her heart? Watch the film together with your children.

The film is bright, kind, very touching. A little naive.

Good for family viewing. Perhaps even for regular viewing, for children and for adults who, in the bustle of everyday life, forget the feeling of gratitude and joy.

Watch and enjoy!
