Georgia Byrd lives in New Orleans and works as a modest saleswoman in a kitchenware store. She has dreams of a better life: to own her own restaurant, to vacation at expensive resorts, to have a real romance. And much more besides, which she carefully writes down in her “Book of Possibilities” but keeps putting off for later.
But one day, after an unlucky flirtation with a colleague, she hits her head and ends up in a hospital bed. After a scan of her head, the doctor gives her stunning news: she has very little time left to live.
Reflecting that in her short life she has not managed to do anything, she decides to change everything radically. She quits her job, withdraws her savings and sets off for the resort of her dreams to live it up to the fullest.
